We will provide examples of how fraud is perpetrated and how to spot the indicators of suspicious workers comp claims. We will explore investigative techniques and discuss referrals to Law Enforcement.

In this episode of Frasco’s Fraud Talk with Claims Pros, we discuss the topic of Compensability Investigations, we will answer critical questions surrounding Workers’ Compensations and AOE/COE investigations. Our roundtable features Adam McMahan and Adam Lopez.

Adam McMahan has experience with a wide variety of investigations, including various lines of insurance claims and workplace issues and is currently a Vice President at Frasco® Investigative Services. Previously, McMahan was a Loss Prevention Manager with a major retailer, where he conducted numerous internal and external theft and fraud investigations and oversaw physical security and loss prevention training for sales and management staff for several stores. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration and holds the designation of Certified Professional in Fraud Identification (CPFI) and is also a licensed private investigator.

Adam Lopez is the Director of Loss Control for The J. Morey Company, an insurance brokerage. Over the last two decades, he has worked for Marsh & McLellan, Argo Insurance, Select Staffing, Harbor Freight, and The Cheesecake Factory in safety, risk management, and loss control. Lopez also hosts an award-winning podcast, “Candid Conversation with Adam Lopez,” has a safety newsletter that is published on LinkedIn and speaks at various national conferences throughout the year.
